PURPOSE & SPECIFICATIONS
ERGOMERA-160.04L — Self-Powered Pulse Counter with GSM/GPRS Data Transmission
ERGOMERA-160.04L is a self-powered device designed for the automatic acquisition, storage, and remote transmission of data from meters with pulse outputs, a pressure sensor, and alarm sensors.
The device combines the functions of a pulse counter, pressure data logger, alarm controller, and GSM/GPRS transmitter in a single enclosure. It enables remote monitoring of utility networks even at sites without a permanent power supply or on-site maintenance personnel.
Applications
ERGOMERA-160.04L is designed to monitor resource consumption, pressure, and the operating status of process equipment.
The following equipment can be connected to the device:
a water, heat, gas, or other resource meter with a pulse output;
a TENSOM pressure sensor;
two discrete alarm sensors;
an external power supply, where available.
The device automatically counts pulses, calculates consumption readings, monitors pressure and the status of alarm inputs, stores information in its internal memory, and transmits it to a server via a mobile network.
Areas of Application
ERGOMERA-160.04L can be used at various utility and industrial infrastructure facilities:
water supply and wastewater systems;
building-level, commercial, and process water metering stations;
pumping stations;
heating substations and boiler houses;
tanks and storage vessels;
wells and remote water intake facilities;
industrial enterprises;
telemetry, dispatching, and SCADA systems.
The device is particularly effective at remote sites where permanent personnel, a stable power supply, or wired communication channels are unavailable.
Parameters Monitored by the Device
Pulse Counting
One counting input is intended for connecting meters with the following output types:
dry contact;
open collector.
The device counts pulses according to the configured pulse value and calculates cumulative consumption readings.
Pressure Measurement
A TENSOM pressure sensor can be connected to ERGOMERA-160.04L. The device:
measures the current pressure value;
stores measurement results in archives;
monitors pressure against configured limit values;
transmits data and alarm notifications to the dispatching system.
Simultaneous monitoring of flow and pressure makes it possible to assess network operating conditions and detect leaks, pressure drops, excessive pressure, and other abnormalities.
Equipment Status Monitoring
Two discrete inputs can be used to monitor:
pump operation or pump failure;
valve position;
opening of a door, manhole, or cabinet;
flooding of a room or enclosure;
activation of an alarm sensor;
other process signals.
When the input status changes, the event is recorded in the archive. Depending on the configuration, the device can initiate an unscheduled communication session and send a notification to the dispatcher.
How ERGOMERA-160.04L Works
Once configured, the device operates automatically:
Receives pulses from the connected meter.
Monitors the status of two alarm inputs.
Measures pressure.
Stores data and events in non-volatile memory.
Connects to the server according to a configured schedule or when an event occurs.
Transmits accumulated information via GSM/GPRS.
After completing the communication session, it can switch off the communication module to conserve energy.
If mobile communication is temporarily unavailable, the device continues metering and accumulating data. Once communication is restored, the information is automatically transmitted to the server, ensuring that no readings are lost.
Two SIM Cards for Reliable Communication
The device supports two SIM cards:
primary;
backup.
If a connection through the primary mobile operator is unavailable, the device automatically switches to the backup SIM card. This improves data transmission reliability at sites with unstable mobile network coverage.
Data can be transmitted:
according to a schedule;
when an event occurs;
on command during configuration or maintenance.
Where a permanent external power supply is available, more frequent data exchange can be configured to provide near-real-time monitoring.
Self-Powered Operation
ERGOMERA-160.04L uses separate power supplies for the measurement section and the communication module.
The measurement module continues to:
count pulses;
measure pressure;
monitor alarm inputs;
maintain data archives,
even when external power or mobile communication is unavailable.
The duration of self-powered operation depends on the installed power sources, communication frequency, GSM signal quality, ambient temperature, and data transmission settings. The less frequently data is transmitted, the longer the device can operate autonomously.
Data Archiving
The device generates and stores:
hourly archive — up to 1,440 records;
daily archive — up to 500 records;
monthly archive — up to 60 records;
alarm archive — up to 1,200 records;
intervention archive — up to 250 records.
The archives can contain consumption readings, pressure values, input statuses, power supply information, alarms, configuration changes, and service events.
Current readings and accumulated archives can be accessed through the web interface of the ERGOMERA information system.

Integration with Information Systems
ERGOMERA-160.04L can operate as a standalone remote monitoring unit or as part of a centralised metering and dispatching system.
Typical system architecture:
meter and sensors → ERGOMERA-160.04L → GSM/GPRS → data collection server → web interface or SCADA
As a result, the dispatcher receives remote access to readings, archives, charts, equipment status information, and alarm notifications without the need to visit the site.
ERGOMERA-160.04L — Self-Powered Site Monitoring in a Single Device
ERGOMERA-160.04L makes it possible to implement remote resource metering, pressure monitoring, and process alarm functions using one compact device.
The device is suitable both for upgrading existing metering stations and for creating new standalone telemetry points at water supply, wastewater, district heating, and industrial infrastructure facilities.
